Premiere of “Blizzards” with Alexander Mikhailov in the Svetlanov Hall

On November 18, 2025, the premiere of the musical and literary composition “Blizzard” based on Pushkin’s novel by the Academic Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments named after N.N. Nekrasov will take place in the Svetlanov Hall of the MMDM. This evening, for the first time in this production, the People’s Artist of Russia Alexander Mikhailov will perform, and talented soloists will also join: Valentina Pravdina (soprano) from the Helikon Opera, Mikhail Basenko (tenor) from the MAMT and balalaic virtuoso Dmitry Ibragimov.

This project is part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the orchestra, which first presented the “Blizzard” more than 15 years ago with the participation of the great Vasily Lanovoy.

“Meeting on the same stage with Vasily Lanov became part of our history,” shared the artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra Yevgeny Volchkov. And now, with Alexander Mikhailov, we again turn to the story of Pushkin.

Volchkov noted that the role in the work is a tribute to the famous actor, whom they met in the House of Music, where they also maintained a friendly relationship with Georgy Sviridov, the creator of the original production. Sviridov, as you know, greatly appreciated the talent of Mikhailov.

In the program of the concert, which consists of two parts, "Blizzard" will be the first part, and the second - Russian and European classics, arias, songs and romances.
