The final concert “Vladimir Spivakov Invites” will amaze the audience with masterpieces of Rachmaninov and Skryabin

On December 10, 2025, the final concert of the XIII festival “Vladimir Spivakov Invites” will be held in the Svetlanov Hall of the Moscow International House of Music. This evening, the South American classics will be presented by pianist Ekaterina Mechetina and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the leadership of outstanding conductor Vladimir Spivakov.

The program includes two works that have become the hallmark of the composers: Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto, an “immortal masterpiece”, and Sergei Scriabin’s Third Symphony. Especially significant for Mechetina is this score, which she repeatedly performed, and now enshrined in her book dedicated to the masterpiece.

For the first time, the acquaintance between Mechetina and Spivakov began with the performance of Rachmaninov and has since grown into a strong friendship and fruitful creative cooperation. Mechetina, with sincere anxiety, says of Rachmaninoff: “He was an intrinsically pure man... There is a trait in his music that teaches us to love and allows us to experience the peak states of the human spirit.”

The second part of the concert is Scriabin’s monumental Third Symphony, reflecting the composer’s philosophical and religious quest. Scriabin, while creating the symphony, developed a detailed literary program in which he expressed his thoughts on the “divine self”, overcoming passions and striving for “divine play” – creativity as the highest activity.
