Nick Flea is preparing a revolutionary solo album with trumpet and a “dream band”

Nick Flea, former bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is preparing to release his new solo album, in which he returns to his origins - trumpet. The single "A Plea" has already managed to come out with a corresponding clip, shot by his daughter, in which Flea demonstrates a crazy pantomime dance, and then other artists join him.

Leading musicians participated in the recording, including guitarist Jeff Parker, drummer Deanthony Parks, double bassist Anna Butters, percussionist Mauro Refosco, tromboneist Vikram Devasthali, alto flutist Ricky Washington, vocalist Chris Warren and producer/saxophonist Josh Johnson. Special attention should be paid to the group of dreams, consisting of visionaries of modern jazz. Even Nick Cave has confirmed his involvement in the project, calling the collaboration a "reconciliation and apology" for previous comments about the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The album, due out in 2026 via Nonesuch Records, promises to be revolutionary as Flea plans to use the trumpet as his main instrument.
