Young pianist Peter Akulov will present a solo concert in the Philharmonic

An outstanding pianist, laureate of international competitions, Peter Akulov, on December 29, 2025, will perform a solo piano concert in the Small Hall of the Philharmonic-2. The concert will feature works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Sergei Prokofiev and Sergei Rachmaninov, including a heartfelt transcription of Vocalise.

At the age of 19, Akulov is already a recognized artist with an impressive track record: a laureate of prestigious competitions, a scholarship holder of the Rostropovich Foundations and New Names, as well as a soloist performing with leading world orchestras. He actively participates in the most important Russian and international musical projects, such as the subscription of the Moscow Philharmonic "Young Talents", the festival "Stars of the XXI century" and others.

Akulov’s musical career began at the age of five, when he began his studies at the Moscow Mathematical School, but then chose the path of a musician, becoming a student of the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory under the leadership of Maxim Zheleznov. He successfully graduated from the Moscow Secondary Special Music School (college). Gnesinykh continues his studies at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and the Oberlin Conservatory (USA) under Professor Stanislav Yudenich.

Akulov regularly attends master classes of leading musicians: Dmitry Bashkirov, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Boris Petrushansky, Rena Shereshevskaya, Emmanuel Ax. His performances are held at the most important concert venues in Russia and the world. Collaborating with conductors Valery Gergiev, Alexander Sladkovsky and Yuri Simonov, Akulov gained a reputation as a pianist combining technical skill with deep musical understanding and an original approach to performance.
