Golden Globe 2024: Mixed feelings and provocations

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards, held in Los Angeles, traditionally opened the Hollywood prize season. Despite the change in leadership and jury composition, the event remained controversial – attractive with a stellar cast, but not always reflecting the relevance of the industry. The emergence of new categories, such as Best Cinematic and Cash Achievement or Best Podcast, failed to address the show's relevance issues. Particular criticism was caused by the unceremonious cancellation of the broadcast of the category "Best Original Music", causing outrage composer Hans Zimmer. However, it is expected that Ludwig Joransson won this nomination again, receiving his fourth nomination and second victory in seven years for the music for Sinners. The song category also pleased fans with the hit "Golden" from "Capop Demon Hunters". As another "deserved" member, the "Capop Demon Hunters" included Korean Ejae from Brooklyn. The main winner of the evening was Paul Thomas Anderson with the film "Battle after Battle", which won four Golden Globes, including the prize for best comedy or musical. Consolation prizes went to Sinners for the soundtrack and "cinematic and box office achievements," predicting possible competition with Anderson at the upcoming Oscars.
