Olivia Dean and Australian music top of Triple J Hottest 100 charts

Olivia Dean once again proved her popularity by topping the next Hottest 100, an annual hit parade defined by millions of Australians, with the single "Man I Need". In 2025, Australian musicians significantly outperformed their competitors, taking 53 of the hundred places on the chart – almost twice as many as a year earlier. Special recognition was given to Olivia Dean and Spacey Jane, whose songs were selected for inclusion in the top 5. Hilltop Hoods set a new record, bringing their number of tracks in the top 100 to 27, while Keli Holiday, Tame Impala and Playlunch took high positions. The Triple J Hottest 100, recognized as a "national treasure" and "the world's best musical democracy," counts the voices of millions of Australians, raises funds for charity and even led to INXS's "Never Tear Us Apart" being recognized as the best Australian song of all time in a special issue. In 2025, Chappell Ron became the leader, followed by Doja Cat and Flume.
