“Sinners” – New Oscar Titan: Records and Amazing in Nominations

At the ceremony of the announcement of the nominees of the award "Oscar" there were significant changes. Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners,” which received 16 nominations, updated the record held for 75 years and became a clear favorite, overtaking “Battle After Battle” by Paul Thomas Anderson (13 nominations). In addition to "Sinners", interest are "Sentimental Value" (9 nominations) and "Secret Agent" (4), as well as the blockbuster "F1", unexpectedly took tenth place in the category "Film of the Year".

In the musical categories, despite expectations, the main nominations were received by Alexander Desplat (“Frankenstein”), Ludwig Joransson (“Sinners”), Johnny Greenwood (“Battle after Battle”) and Jerskin Fendrix (“Bugonia”), as well as Max Richter (“Hamnet”), who received the first nomination in his career.

In the Song of the Year category, the top hit is “Golden” from “Capepop Demon Hunters”, which will compete with “I Lied to You” from “Sinners”, “Dear Me” from Diane Warren, “Sweet Dreams of Joy” from “Viva Verdi!” and “Train Dreams” from Bryce Dessner and Nick Cave. The 98th Oscars will be held on March 15 with host Conan O’Brien.
