Olivia Rodrigo, “The Cure”: A New Song Inspired by the 90s

Olivia Rodrigo has released a new single from her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. Unlike her previous hit "Drop Dead", which featured a reference to the band The Cure, the new song is also titled "The Cure". Rodrigo is a longtime fan of The Cure, with whom she even performed at Glastonbury alongside Robert Smith. However, the sound of "The Cure" is very different from the style of The Cure, more reminiscent of the sound of such bands as Foo Fighters and The Smashing Pumpkins, popular in the 1990s. Rodrigo called this song her favorite on the album, noting that it is one of her favorite works. The album will be released in full on June 12, and you can pre-order a special version on vinyl or cassette on the artist’s website.
