Bonobo Completes Distance and Static: The Last Album?

British electronic musician Simon Green, known as Bonobo, will release his new album, Distance and Static, on September 11. Green hinted that this could be the last studio album of his career, stating, “This is probably my last lap of honor in this format – I’m going to have to rethink what it means to be a musician.” The album includes guest appearances from recognized artists such as Grammy winner Aruz Aftab and Joy Crooks, as well as Nilufer Janya. The recording uses unique samples from Iran, recordings of guzhen (a traditional Chinese instrument) and texts in English, Japanese and Urdu.
