A tape with a demo version of the theme “The whole world is not enough” Chris Martin put up for auction

British producer Chris Ellison, who collaborated with Coldplay almost three decades ago, held an online auction selling archival records. Of particular interest was the tape with a demo version of the song "The World is Not Enough", written by Chris Martin under acoustic guitar for the James Bond film of the same name (1999). Initially, Martin did not plan to send this record to the producers of the franchise, and as a result, the title theme for the film was performed by the group Garbage.

At the time, Coldplay was just beginning their careers with their second EP, The Blue Room, and their fans were the Bond films. The song "Spies" from the debut album "Parachutes", inspired by the music of John Barry for the first films with Sean Connery, was also presented at auction. In addition to Coldplay demos, the lots included rough recordings of The Beta Band and The Wedding Present, other projects Ellison was working on. The auction will last another 18 days, and the tape with the Bond Martin theme has already reached a price of $ 1,500.
