American Music Awards: Billy Eilish dominated, but interest in the ceremony was minimal

The 51st American Music Awards ceremony, held in Las Vegas, was a kind of comeback of the show after a two-year hiatus and did not cause the expected stir. In the spotlight was Billie Eilish, who won all seven nominations, where she was nominated, including the main awards – “Artist of the Year” and “Album of the Year”. However, interest in the event was not high: nominal stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson and Rod Stewart, almost did not receive recognition. Only Lopez's performances launched the show, and Jackson and Stewart (awarded children of the latter) received awards for merit. Kendrick Lamar, despite his popularity, limited himself to one statuette, losing to Emine in competitive categories. Twenty One Pilots also won in rock categories. Billie Eilish will resume the tour in support of her album Hit Me Hard and Soft on August 16 in Japan and conclude it on November 23 in California, where all tickets for concerts have already sold out.
