Skunk Anansie return with new album

Skunk Anansie have released their seventh studio album, The Painful Truth. The CD features 10 tracks, including the successful singles "An Artist Is An Artist" and "Cheers". In contrast to the usual approach, the band chose to record most of the tracks directly in the studio, so as not to previously show them to the public. As Skye explains, this was due to the realization that the band, like many bands of the 90s, was losing its relevance. “We wanted to create a new sound, and it was pretty hard,” she said. It felt like we were holding hands and jumping off a cliff, hoping we would land in the right order. The Cheers singer added: "It was difficult when you were so used to doing things in a certain way."
