Round table "Partitura": Discussion of strategies for the development of modern music

In the Moscow library of the Radisson Collection Hotel, the final round table of the III All-Russian Competition of Young Composers “Partitura” was completed. The participants, including the ideologists of the contest and leading musical figures, discussed the future of the project, the prospects for the development of modern music in Russia and the possibilities of international cooperation.

The main topic was the formation of a community of like-minded people and the support of young authors. As noted by the chief adviser of the Presidential Administration for Public Projects of the President of the Russian Federation, composer Pyotr Koryagin, the task of the competition is to “support this energy” and develop “non-standard solutions” for the development of modern music.

There was an active discussion around the strategy of promoting academic music, including through radio ("Orpheus") and using artificial intelligence as a tool for technical work. Participants offered new nominations, including chamber music and compositions for the orchestra of folk instruments, as well as the creation of residencies at orchestras and the launch of an educational platform.

Particular attention was paid to international cooperation and consideration of the participants’ proposals, which were emphasized by the organizers as a key factor for the further development of the competition. The fourth contest is scheduled for 2026 and promises to be more open and perfect.
