Hayley Williams returns: 17 singles and hints at the past

After two years under contract with Atlantic Records, Hayley Williams is back with new music. Recently, the first solo track in four years, "Mirtazapine", was released, and then 17 songs, combined under the name "Ego", appeared on Williams' website. These tracks, including a creative reimagining of Bloodhound Gang's hit "Discovery Channel," were available online but soon disappeared. They have now debuted on streaming services as 17 individual singles. The new lyrics sparked a strong fan response, with speculation that Williams would part ways with Paramore guitarist Taylor Yorke, which she confirmed in 2022, and possible consequences for the band. This is the first release of new music from both Hayley Williams herself and Paramore as independent artists.
