Michael Kiwanuka Prepares for New Album ‘Fudge’

After five years reworking Small Changes, British musician Michael Kiwanuka is preparing to release his new album, Fudge. Although there is no official release date yet, MOJO magazine has published a lengthy interview with Kiwanuka where he discusses "Fudge" and received a four-star review on it. Estimated release dates for the album are September 5 or 12.

In an interview, Kiwanuka spoke about the completion of the collaboration with producers of the album “Small Changes” – Danger Mouse and Inflo. He noted that the situation became uncomfortable for further work. Something stopped working and it’s hard to make an album in that situation. A lot of things have happened, some of which I'm not ready to talk about in public. Thank God for a mentor and friend like Danger Mouse. Without him, this album [Small Changes] would never have been finished.

Work on Fudge began in parallel with the recording of Small Changes in his small cabin in Southampton. Kiwanuka was recently forced to cancel all of his upcoming concerts, including his opening appearances with Mumford & Sons, due to an "ongoing illness." In the meantime, fans can enjoy the video for the song "One and Only", which debuted as a video maker Malia Ann Obama.
